Your bike came from the factory equipped with a powerful motor. In order for it to work as it should, the motor is lubed and cooled by engine oil, which is retained in the oil pan. Stamped of metal, such pans are designed to contain a certain quantity of oil necessary for lubrication. Dipsticks should be regarded as measuring devices which are used for checking the level of lubricant present in the pan.
