Alpinestars has been an icon in the riding gear industry for more than half a century. The company’s history goes back to 1963, the time when motocross started gaining popularity. At that time a leather craftsman, Sante Mazzarolo, realized that he could use his talent to develop footwear that would significantly increase rider safety and comfort. Based in Asolo, a small town in Northern Italy, he created his first boot that quickly became the pinnacle of motocross protection.
Soon Sante moved to a larger facility in Maser, Northern Italy, where he started creating a new boot for enduro racing. The new boot was immensely popular among professional enduro racers and amateur off-road riders. This allowed the company to establish a reputation for quality and creativity. By the mid-1980s, Alpinestars was a global leader in high-performance motorcycle boots for both road and off-road use. But the company was not going to rest on its laurels. In the 1990s, Alpinestars launched its first line of technical riding apparel that combined exceptional protection with maximum comfort. And in 2004, the company introduced its premium collection of casual gear that included hats, T-shirts, and other related products.
