American IronHorse Motorcycle Women's

American IronHorse was established far back in 1995 by two enthusiasts, Tim Edmundson and Bill Rucker, with the main goal to build custom motorcycles that capture the allure of American tradition and workmanship, while being simple, effective, and attractive. From its modest beginning in a one-room shop, American IronHorse has grown into one of the largest factory producers with its own 224,000-square-foot facility located in Fort Worth, Texas. The company has developed a solid reputation for manufacturing custom motorcycles (choppers and cruisers), so it would be a surprise to find two bikes that are alike. While some motorcycles came with 240mm rear tires, others boasted 280mm ones.

Most American IronHorse parts and accessories for bikes were designed, engineered, built, polished, painted, and assembled in-house. The exceptions are S&S engines used in the company's motorcycles. In 2004, Bill Rucker was bought out of his ownership. The following year, Tim Edmundson also left the company, and Will Garland took up the position of CEO. In 2006, the company celebrated its 10th Anniversary by introducing several ambitious projects to the public. Firstly, the lineup of American IronHorse accessories and parts was expanded to give customers a wider choice. Secondly, the AIR (American IronHorse Riders) group was established. And finally, the release of a limited edition Texas Chopper was certainly the most exciting news. The special anniversary Texas Chopper had an 8-up/4-out softail-style frame finished in chrome and was powered by a show-polished 124 c.i. engine. Only 125 of those models were built, which made them even more unique and desired.

For the 2006 model year, the company also offered six different models: three choppers (the Legend, LSC, and Texas Chopper) and three cruisers (the Tejas, Slammer, and Outlaw). While the LSC and Tejas were rigid-frame motorcycles, the other four bikes had a softail-style frame. For the 2006 model year, a 111 c.i. engine was standard on all AIH offerings. But customers could also have the bike with a 117 c.i or 124 c.i engine. All 2006 bikes featured hydraulic clutches, which differentiated them from the previous models. Besides, these motorcycles could be purchased with chrome wheels available in many styles. To ensure reliable and lasting service, all American IronHorse accessories and parts were built with professional attention to the tiniest detail. Unfortunately, after many years of triumph, American IronHorse fell in hard times. Over the following years, it had four CEOs who tried to replicate its former success. Finally, it was purchased by Texton Inc. and liquidated in 2008.
