Yes, both acid packs are required. BikeMaster recommends that after filling, you wait 20-30 minutes and then charge the battery fully before first use.
We recommend that you use a Powersports Battery charger (AH usually .5ma - 1.5AH) for your TruGel and AGM batteries. These have a lower charging amp hour rating than the automotive chargers (2AH – 10AH).
Li-Ion and TruGel batteries have a two-year warranty, all other batteries have a one-year warranty.
Lithium Ion batteries deliver the same cranking amps as a standard battery, but with 3-4 times less amp hours. A machine with onboard ciruitry that is always on will drain a Lithium Ion battery faster.
We do not recommend it. Lead Acid chargers will not fully charge a Lithium battery and Some chargers have a "pulse" or "desulfation" mode that will kill a Lithium Ion battery. Lithium batteries require the current to start low, then increase as the battery charges. This is opposite to what a standard battery requires. A Lithium battery charged at higher than 14.4V will become damaged. BikeMaster recommends the use of a Lithium Ion specific charger maintainer. We do offer a Charger/Maintainer that is made to work with our Lithium batteries: Part number 150906
If your Lithium Ion battery is ever drained below 10-10.5v, it may become permanently damaged. BikeMaster Recommends that if you do not use the battery often, (Less than once or twice a week), or are only going on short rides that does not give the charging system time to charge the battery, you will want to keep a maintainer connected to the battery, or remove the battery terminal to keep the battery from being drained by any parasitic draws. BikeMaster recommends the use of a Lithium Ion specific charger/maintainer, such as our part number 150906 Lithium Ion Charger. BikeMaster Warranty does not cover over-charged, or over-discharged Lithium Ion batteries.
Both 6000K and 8000K kits are 35-Watt kits.
Attempt to “bench test” the signals by connecting them directly to a 12-Volt power source. If they are still not working, contact tech support.
