Bolt Motorcycle Hardware is located on the beautiful Central Coast of California, where we design, assemble, package and ship our hardware kits.
It started in 1989 with a 12-year-old that really wanted his own dirt bike. Company mowed lawns, shoveled gravel, and picked up any odd job he could get. He and his dad found a used Kawasaki KX80 in the paper and, after emptying his hard-earned savings account, the bike was his. After what seemed like a lifetime, he finally got his mom to drive him an hour and a half to Hollister Hills to ride. Two minutes into the KX's maiden voyage, the rear axle fell out. The previous owner had used the wrong hardware! The kid's day was over before it had really begun. During the drive back home, he pondered how something so seemingly insignificant could have such an affect on his day. Thus began a passion for reliable and appropriate fasteners for dirt bikes.
Eleven years (and several other motorcycles) later, Bolt Motorcycle Hardware was born. Hollister HillsIn 2003, company released first product, the Japanese Track Pack. Since then, company have created several other hardware solutions and product line continues to grow. Bolt MC fasteners are tested and used at the professional level in supercross, motocross and ATV racing. Company carefully reviews new models every year to keep hardware products current and applicable. Bolt MC Hardware products may get copied, but are never matched.
This is a throwback to company very first online video from 2008. Bolt MC Hardware have moved into a bigger building and expanded company products, but core values remain the same.
