The one-piece slotted or drilled discs of the Sport range are available for all the most widely sold models of car, whereas Turismo floating discs with an aluminium hat are only available for certain particularly high performance models.
SPORT LINEReliable on the road, superior on the track. The discs of the Brembo Sport range are ideal for enthusiasts who use their vehicles for both normal road use and more performance-oriented driving. With their advanced characteristics, these discs combine the advantages in terms of durability of the best street discs with superior performance suitable for moderate track use.
More flexibility and durability, at all temperatures. For greater versatility and to increase their ability to withstand extreme stress, Brembo Sport brake discs are made from high-carbon cast iron for improved thermal and mechanical resistance. They also feature exclusive pillar venting technology, which improves cooling capacity and increases resistance to cracking caused by thermal shock by over 40%. Cross-drilled and slotted finishes are designed and executed with meticulous precision. These holes or slots in the braking surface help dissipate heat and eliminate brake dust and gases. Every Brembo product is designed in relation to the specific performance requisites. The discs of the Sport range are specifically designed to minimise thermal distortion and disc warping even in the most severe operating conditions. As a result, they ensure outstanding braking power in both everyday traffic and the most extreme high performance driving, yet are easily accessible to all enthusiasts.
Immediate, consistent braking in all conditionsThe unique cross-drilled or slotted finish is another exclusive Brembo feature which improves braking consistency by dissipating the heat generated and gas released as the pads come into contact with the discs, keeping the pad surface both cool and clean. Both cross drilling and slots interrupt the water film forming when driving in the wet for improved brake response. This effect is most evident with cross-drilled discs, due to the different solid/hollow ratio of the surface and the possibility for water to flow through the ventilation holes.
Eye-catching looks and total compatibility. All the discs of the Sport range are zinc plated, which improves corrosion resistance and also gives the car a more aggressive look. In spite of their exclusive characteristics, the Brembo Sport discs are the same size as the original equipment components, are fully compatible with the standard calipers, wheels and other components of the vehicle, and are also simple to install. However, all high performance Brembo discs are more durable and offer greater comfort if used in conjunction with the appropriate Brembo pads.
TURISMO LINEFloating discs with a rotor in high carbon cast iron and a hat in billet aluminium. These discs are the same size as the original equipment parts and have been specifically designed for total compatibility with the standard calipers, wheels and all other original components of the vehicle. With a hat in aluminium alloy, the floating disc system reduces unsprung mass, for improved handling, and thermal stress. The mounting system is engineered to permit a greater degree of both radial and axial float. Available as drilled or slotted versions.
Carbon ceramic discsThe Brembo Group has been manufacturing carbon ceramic discs for automotive applications since 2002, when it first supplied these components for the Ferrari Enzo. This high performance material, made from a special mixture of powders, resins and fibres in a complex manufacturing process, has been used since the 1970s in braking systems for aerospace applications and since the 1980s in motorsports. Since 2000, carbon ceramic has also been used in the production of braking systems for sports cars. In 2004, the carbon ceramic braking system was awarded the Golden Compass prize by ADI, the Italian Industrial Design Association. Carbon ceramic offers substantial benefits in terms of performance - in both wet and dry conditions - weight, comfort, corrosion resistance, durability and high-tech appeal. In June 2009, Brembo forged the equal share joint venture Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes together with SGL Carbon, with the objective of developing carbon ceramic braking systems, and manufacturing and commercialising carbon ceramic discs exclusively for the passenger car and commercial vehicle original equipment markets. Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes is currently the leading producer of carbon ceramic discs, and supplies these components for the most exclusive models of prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Corvette, Nissan, Lexus, McLaren, Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti and AMG.
DRILLED / SLOTTED RotorsBoth drilled and slotted rotors offer improved initial bite and provide an exit path for water, debris and gases. Some manufacturers offer drilled rotors for performance and an aggressive look. Slotted rotors are recommended for extreme conditions and specifically fitted for vehicles with racing pads.
OVERSIZED ONE-PIECE ROTORSIncorporates the benefits of an oversized rotor and application specific vane geometry for increased brake torque and thermal capacity.
OVERSIZED TWO-PIECE “FLOATING” ROTORSRace inspired design reduces unsprung and rotating weight while increasing brake torque and heat dissipation.
DISCS WITH FIXING SCREWSBrembo includes a fastener screw kit in the same package as the disc in order to make the disc replacement easier, especially when the original screws are so rusty or consumed they cannot be re-used (at least not easily). Fastener screw’s purpose is simply to set the disc in the right position (hub-centered), making braking system maintenance easier. Some applications need no fastener screw, a lot of them need one, others need two or more. One screw is enough to fasten the disc. Some companies make two positioning holes to allow disc rotation from a position to another, but there is no need for two screws. In case of applications with one hole, the mechanic can replace the screws of both the discs with Brembo new ones. In case of applications with two holes, the mechanic can replace the most rusty or consumed screws with Brembo two new ones, re-using the remaining ones. In the unlikely possibility of unusable screws, maintenance can be completed by only using the two screws in the kit.
Some manufacturers use on the rear axle of their vehicles brake discs with a built-in hub and bearing. This type of configuration makes it very difficult, if not impossible to replace the disc, without damaging the bearing. Too meet operators’ requirements, Brembo proposes as part of its Aftermarket line the disc with built-in bearing kit. The bearings are pre-assembled on the discs and drums: this makes installation simpler and faster, while also preventing the risk of damaging the bearing during removal from the old disc. The Brembo kit also includes an integrated ABS tone wheel, where required by OE specifications.
Brembo PVT discs feature the exclusive pillar venting system patented by Brembo, which improves cooling capacity and increases resistance to thermal cracking by over 40%. To be more specific, pillars (a Brembo patent) are used into the ventilation chamber, instead of vanes (the solution adopted for the most of discs on the market).
Pillars grant a better cracking resistance by allowing:
The UV coated discs range satisfies the needs of all the Aftermarket professionals: it establishes a benchmark alternative to the original product with top quality and superior aesthetic thanks to innovative and unique products features.
The upgrade within reach of every car. Designed and tested for predominantly performance-oriented street use, Brembo Sport brake pads represent the first upgrade level for any braking system. These products have been created for drivers with sporty ambitions and, more generally, for anyone who wants to maximise the potential of their car. These pads boast levels of manufacturing quality and advanced materials that only Brembo can offer. They offer outstanding performance even without warming up and at low speeds, thanks to a specific friction material that ensures constant friction at all temperature ranges. In addition to enhanced performance, this material also ensures outstanding quietness and reduced disc and pad wear. Excellent performance in all situations. Brembo Sport brake pads also offer exceptional brake pedal precision, for total control of the braking force. While they work best at temperatures between 200 and 300 °C, they can withstand much higher temperatures - up to 600 °C - and are designed to deliver both superlative performance and satisfactory levels of comfort. These are therefore the ideal brake pads for drivers who demand the best from their brakes, even during everyday use, and are even more effective if used in conjunction with the appropriate Brembo discs.
These mechanical calipers will allow you to retain your parking brakes when you upgrade to a Brembo brake system. They come with mounting brackets and everything required for installation.
Features:
On some vehicles, the rear brake calipers are also used for the parking brakes. When upgrading to a Brembo brake kit, this functionality is lost. This mechanical caliper kit will let you retain your parking brakes when you install a Brembo brake kit. It comes with mounting brackets that position the parking brake calipers in a different location over the rear brake discs. The single piston aluminum calipers are completely mechanical and not part of the hydraulic brake system. Brembo warrants to the original user that this parking brake kit is free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase.
