You can hear a Harley Davidson approaching far before seeing it as the sound of its motor is unique and immediately recognizable; the brand even filed a trademark application for it in 1994. Indeed, it is one of the most iconic American motorcycle makes, and they surely know what it takes to create bikes with impressive riding characteristics. However, even top-ranked, iconic bikes have some downsides, and air intake leaks are quite common in “Hogs” due to the design of the engine, carburetor, and intake manifold. In most cases, leaks occur due to degraded rings or gaskets, and, usually, it is enough to replace damaged sealing components to solve the issue.
Less common cases include cracked vacuum hoses, misalignment between the intake and cylinder head, or, quite commonly on late-model Harleys, poor support of the carburetor. These leaks are often some of the last ones to blame when your bike runs poorly due to a lean condition, and there are cases that many other components get replaced before the air leak is detected. The engine may start hard, idle high, and revs may take longer to settle down after the throttle is closed. Whatever the case, we have the right Harley Davidson motorcycle air intake gaskets and seals, available in universal designs or specifically tailored to suit a particular model.
