Erik Buell Racing Motorcycle Women's

The history of Erik Buell Racing (EBR) dates back to 1983 when the former Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell started designing and building racing motorcycles. In 1984, Buell developed the RW750, a Grand Prix model for racing in the AMA Formula 1 competitions. During the next decade, Erik built a line of street sports motorcycles powered by Harley-Davidson engines while running a successful business of supplying race parts. In 1993, Harley-Davidson ended up buying 49% of the flourishing Buell Motorcycle Company. A few years later, the biggest motorcycle manufacturer in America purchased another 49% of the business, leaving Erik Buell with only 2% of the company he built.

The financial crisis of 2008 forced Harley-Davidson to cut the losses and close all unessential branches, including Buell Motorcycle Company which ceased to exist in 2009. Instead, the same year, in November, Harley-Davidson in collaboration with Erik Buell announced the launch of Erik Buell Racing, the division that was originally specialized in the production of racing parts for Buell motorcycles and then focused on designing and manufacturing super premium street-friendly race bikes. At the end of the day, when under the wing of Harley-Davidson, Erik Buell was able to implement many innovations in the design of his motorcycles. In 2002, he introduced his super successful model, the XBR9 Firebolt with aluminum beam chassis featuring “oil in swing arm” and “fuel in frame” approaches and close-to-the-rim front brake rotor.

Today, Erik Buell Racing offers a range of high-performance superbikes with true racing heritage, including the EBR 1190SX, 1190RX, and Black Lightning. All models are powered by an Eats Troy 1190 cc (72.6 cu in.) V-Twin liquid-cooled four-stroke motor which is good for 185 hp. Such a machine as the EBR Black Lightning allows you to dominate city streets or race track getting you form 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive. An aluminum frame includes an integral fuel reservoir. A front 17-inch aluminum wheel features ZTL hydraulic brakes and inverted front forks with big Showa piston for suspension. Rear suspension is based on Showa single shock without linkage. Besides that, the company offers the Original Equipment chassis and powertrain parts for current models and also earlier models, such as the 1125R, 1125CR, XB12, and XB9.
