To make sure that your new motorcycle graphics and decals look great for years to come and don’t peel off prematurely, have some patience, don’t rush things, and follow our simple recommendations for installation. If you have old decals on your bike, remove them by using a heat gun. Just make sure that plastic parts of your machine don’t get too hot avoiding the risk of deforming them. The heated adhesive will allow you to lift old graphics and decals much easier. Remove all sticky residue with rubbing alcohol or contact cleaner. Do the same to remove oil residue from new plastic details.

After removing old decals or cleaning new plastics, wash the surface with soap and water and then let it dry completely. Don’t forget that the surface must be clean if you want the graphics to stick well. Align the graphics piece on the plastic or metal surface of your motorcycle and start by carefully removing backing paper. If you are satisfied with its placement, continue by pressing the decals onto the surface. Make sure to remove all air bubbles before continuing the installation. By heating the vinyl, you can make the graphic more pliable to cover curved sections. Note that decals installed directly on plastic fuel tanks may discolor and bubble in time due to the fuel vapors that can permeate through tank walls.
