Mild soap and water is the best method to keep them clean. To keep the show polish, company recommend a quality Aluminum Polish.
Mild soap and water to clean them and a healthy coat of Carnauba wax applied often with a soft cloth.
Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners that can destroy the black anodized finish. You may use a non-abrasive wax with UV protectant on the black anodized portion of the product to protect it. Never use a harsh or abrasive wax as it will remove the black anodized finish. Avoid exposure to UV rays whenever possible.
Cleaning: Clean your wheels often, this will remove contaminates that eat your chrome and will extend the life of the chrome many years. Never use chemical cleaners, instead use mild soap and water and a soft cloth to clean the wheels. Waxing: High speed and long distances on dirty roads can have the same effect as sandblasting your wheels and a good coat of wax is their only protection. Company recommend Carnauba type wax applied often with a soft cloth after each ride.
Clean and Care of Black Anodized Finish: Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners that can destroy the black anodized finish. Clean and Care of Milled Area (Machine Cut): Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners. To remove stains on the milled area you may use the following methods depending upon the condition of the wheel.
1.A mild MAG polish will remove mild stains from the milled area, but will make the milled area shiny as it contains some abrasives. CAUTION: Take extreme care not to use this on the black ano surface of any product as it will remove the black finish. 2.Scotch bright can be used to remove more severe stains on the milled area. CAUTION: Measures should be taken up to and including masking to ensure that the black ano surface of any product is not damaged. 3. To retain the satin finish of the milled area a MILD scotch bright cloth may be used very carefully to clean the surface.
Wire-wheel maintenance involves a few simple tasks and even fewer tools. The wheel needs to be inspected on a periodic basis for physical damage, loose or worn components, alignment problems and, most importantly, spoke tension. Company recommend to inspect spoke wheels every 3000 miles or once a year, unless your owner's manual specifies otherwise. Company strongly recommend you inspect your spoke wheels after hitting any potential road hazards that could damage them, i.e. potholes, frost heaves and similar obstacles.
HardDrive seats are made using high quality Mercedes grain leather for the seating surface and automotive grade vinyl for the side panels.
Company recommend using oil based leather conditioner to clean your HardDrive seat and keep it looking like new for years to come. Frequent care keeps the leather flexible and prevents it from drying out and cracking. A quality leather conditioner will also help protect it from UV damage caused by extended exposure to the sun.
Frequent use of a leather conditioner will also keep your seat’s water repellent properties intact. To seal the seams Company recommend the use of a clear wax (not white). Only wax the seams not the entire seat, otherwise it will become slippery.
Extended Storage: Many machines will drain power from a battery while sitting even with the key off (due to alarm or systems built into the machine). This can be a problem with lithium batteries due to the lower amp hour rating compared to lead acid batteries.
During extended periods of storage (more than 2 weeks or so), it is recommended to either disconnect the battery or put it on a Battery Tender type float charger. DO NOT USE A DESULFATION TYPE CHARGER! Use of this type of charger will damage the battery and void the warranty!
Cold Weather: In cold weather conditions (generally 35° F and below) it may be necessary to “wake up” the battery so it can produce enough cranking amps to start the machine. To do this, you can turn the key on and run the headlight for approximately 30 seconds and try and start the machine. You can also continually hit the starter button until the machine turns over and fully starts. Usually once the machine has started, you will not need to repeat this procedure unless it has been sitting idle for a number of hours.
The cold weather nature of lithium is true of most all lithium batteries regardless of brand.
