The Hyosung brand is owned by KR Motors, the South Korean company that specializes in the manufacturing of motorcycles. In 1991, the Korean motorcycle maker finished building its second manufacturing facility in Daejeon.

In 1996, Hyosung already sold 1 million units, and the number doubled five years later. KR Motors continues to advance its position in the global market. In 2002, the company established its own distribution division in the United States. Until recently, Hyosung was focusing on simple and efficient models for commuting, but now, the brand has expanded its range into the recreational market and included bikes with larger engine displacement. Today, Hyosung offers a line of sportbikes for those who value top speed and acceleration, standard roadsters best suitable for beginners, and American-styled cruisers for riders who mostly seek comfort.

One of the most popular models, the Hyosung GT650, is available in naked, half-fairing, and full-fairing trims. The motorcycle offers smooth riding, excellent handling, easy starting, crisp throttle response, low emissions, and all-around performance available for a very reasonable price. The machine is powered by a 650 cc (40 cu in.) 90-degree DOHC 8-valve V-Twin engine with electronic fuel injection and liquid cooling. The model features a six-speed constant mesh gearbox, chain final drive, semi-floating double disc front brakes with 4-piston calipers, upside down telescopic front suspension, and rear suspension based on an adjustable hydraulic mono shock absorber. The bike can get you from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
