Please note: Unlike Nomex® and other aramid materials that are inherently flame-resistant, FR cotton is treated with a flame-retardant chemical that can lose efficacy over the course of the garment’s lifetime.
Material (Proban® Cotton):
FR Cotton, including its branded counterpart Proban®, stands as a reliable flame-resistant material, providing consistent fire protection. While FR Cotton is treated with a flame retardant chemical for initial resistance, it's important to note that this treatment may diminish over time through washing.
Certification: SFI 3.2A/1
Generally single layer suits with a Thermal Protection value of six. Suits rated to 3.2A/1 are tested for up to 6 seconds in simulated lab fires, offering approximately 3 seconds of fire protection against second-degree burns.
Machine wash on gentle cycle in mild-detergent on cold or warm cycle. Do not exceed 30 degrees (Celsius, 86 degrees Fahrenheit). Close all zippers, and secure all hook and loop closures (if applicable) and turn garment inside out to avoid damage while washing. Never use detergents containing bleach! Tumble dry on low heat for ten minutes then hang dry.
