Kuryakyn is currently one of the most recognizable aftermarket brand names for motorcycle parts and accessories. Since its inception in 1989, this company has been leading the industry with innovative products built largely for cruisers and tourers. Kuryakyn motorcycle parts and accessories are created by people who are as passionate about bikes as the riders they’re made for. No other brand has such a diverse range of stylish, well-designed, easy-to-install products that can change the look and performance of your machine.
Kuryakyn was founded by Tom Rudd, an experienced motorcycle mechanic and one of the pioneers of fuel drag bike racing. It was his second successful enterprise – the first one, named Drag Specialties, was established in the late 1960s and has evolved into one of the largest companies in the industry as well. Tom sold this business in the mid-1980s, but as he said, “once motorcycles are in your blood, you’re hooked for life.” So in a couple of years, Tom Rudd and his wife, Pat Furlong, created a chrome accessory company which has grown into another big brand. Currently, Kuryakyn is owned by MAG (Motorsport Aftermarket Group).
The company has an extensive product line that includes windshields, lights, luggage systems, slip-ons, and air cleaners, but Kuryakyn grips and footpegs are what it’s best known for in the motorcycle world. Kuryakyn ISO grips were the first successful offerings in this product niche and are still in big demand. They are designed for those who want to make long rides much more comfortable. These grips eliminate handlebar vibrations reducing fatigue in the rider’s hands, and what’s just as important, their stylish design complements just about any cruiser or touring bike. Just like the grips, Kuryakyn footpegs reduce vibrations and look great on your machine. Performance-wise, the brand is best known for the Kuryakyn Hypercharger, one of the most effective add-ons you can install on your bike. It improves air delivery letting your engine breathe and increasing HP and torque outputs, while featuring an appealing design.
