490 Sport Series Shocks by Progressive Suspension®. A true sport performance shock at heart with an unbelievable low cost, the new 490 Sport Series Shocks feature a high-pressure monotube with deflective disc damping technology, hand threaded preload and a rebound adjustment to dial in the ride. This technology coupled with a linear rate spring allow for consistent feel through the damper stroke and the ability to withstand extreme temperature ranges and heavy loads. An engineered jounce bumper with a built-in metal cup also help smooth out and control bottoming. From pounding pavement around town to hammering around the tarmac on your next race day, the 490 is the perfect choice for your performance demand! Every shock is hand-built, tuned and dyno'd in Progressive Suspension facility in La Palma, California and come with a lifetime warranty.

Founded in 1982, Progressive Suspension® has evolved into the largest aftermarket motorcycle suspension manufacturer in the United States as well as a top tier supplier of suspension components to domestic OE customers. Their suspension systems can be found on premier customs, production trikes and just about any bike that's doing big miles across the US and for that matter the world. A team of ride control trained engineers use state of the art computers, shock dynos and real world testing to create the ideal suspension platform for your bike. From there, their state of the art manufacturing facility assembles and in many cases dyno tests each unit before it leaves the factory. Their quality control systems touch on each component from assembly to final stages and nothing gets in or out of the building without passing a rigorous inspection. High performance suspension is not limited to street machines, as their line up also includes an in depth line of shocks and fork springs for bikes dating back to the 50's as well as product for modern Adventure Touring bikes, Sport Bikes, ATV and UTV's.

Warranty

All products are covered by a 1-year limited warranty (including tools, 12, 13, 14 series dampers, 412, 512, 413, 416, 716, 422, 425, 429, 465) (except those listed below).

All springs, including spring only kits and springs installed in or on other products, are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. All Monotube Kits, 430, 435, 444, 944, 970, 490, 990 series products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. 428 Series shocks are covered by a 2-year limited warranty.

Excluded from coverage under this warranty are the following:

Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or neglect
Damage caused by improper installation, use in an improper application or use in conjunction with other devices such as lowering blocks
Normal wear and tear
Damage caused by anything other than defects in material or workmanship
Damage caused by use in racing
Any and all claims for consequential or incidental damages

All coverage under this warranty is void if any modification, change or alteration has been made to the product that is not specifically authorized in writing by Progressive Suspension. Repaired or replaced products are covered for the remainder of the original warranty only. All warranty claims must be accompanied by the original purchase receipt from an Authorized Dealer. Invoice or charge receipt must clearly identify the dealer. Progressive Suspension product is not covered by any verbal warranties.

Shock Absorber Limited Warranty

Progressive Suspension's only responsibility shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective product. Progressive Suspension will not be responsible for any costs, losses or damages incurred as a result of loss of use of product. Progressive Suspension reserves the right to change the design of any product without assuming any obligation to modify any product previously manufactured.

This warranty is subject to the following limitations in addition to any imposed by virtue of applicable law.

The warranty applies only to shock absorbers purchased from Authorized Dealers and is valid for the original purchaser only for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase.

Shock Springs and Fork Springs Lifetime Warranty

This warranty is subject to the following limitations in addition to any imposed by virtue of applicable law.

The warranty applies only to shock springs and fork springs purchased from Authorized Dealers and is valid for the original purchaser for life
All springs, including spring only kits and springs installed in or on other products, are covered by a lifetime limited warranty. All Monotube Kits, 430, 435, 444, 944, 970, 490, 990 series products are covered by a lifetime limited warranty. 428 Series shocks are covered by a 2-year limited warranty.
Springs which are 1/4" (0.25") longer or shorter than the free length listed in the most current Progressive Suspension catalog will be considered under warranty.
