The performance of a modern motorcycle is influenced by different factors, and some of the most important ones are engine characteristics and suspension settings. While dampening road impacts, the fork and shock(s) also contribute to the good traction and behavior of a bike during acceleration, braking, or cornering. As for the fork, there are two main categories including damping rod and cartridge forks. The latter boast higher performance in a wider range of loads, and Race Tech is well-known on the motorcycle market for the so-called "Gold Valves", or cartridge emulators allowing you to make the damping rod assembly work almost like the cartridge one. By installing such a device inside the fork, you get better control over compression damping, while rebound damping could be adjusted by altering oil viscosity.
