Motorcycle ramps are widely used by riders to load their vehicles into truck beds, trailers, or any other elevated platform of a reasonable height. As always, safety is the number one priority. You have to use your common sense when using a motorcycle ramp. To avoid accidents and make the loading process easy and efficient, you have to choose the right ramp of appropriate weight capacity, length, and width. On the digital shelves of our online store, you can find a vast assortment of motorcycle ramps designed for loading a wide variety of machines starting from small scooters and dirt bikes and ending with heavy cruisers.

To be sure that your motorcycle ramp meets your needs completely, you have to consider several crucial factors before buying one. First of all, you have to choose a ramp of an appropriate weight rate, meaning that it must be strong enough to support the weight of your bike. If you plan on loading several bikes, your ramp must be rated for the heaviest of your machines. Second, your ramp must be long enough for you to be able to push or ride your motorcycle onto the loading surface without it bottoming out on the angled edge between the ramp and the surface.

The longer the ramp, the more gradual the slope. But if it is too long, its ability to support the weight of your vehicle may be compromised. Besides, it may be harder for you to find storage space for your long ramp. In general, it is recommended to choose a ramp that is four times longer than the height of the loading surface. For instance, if your truck bed is elevated 3 feet above the ground, then a 12-feet ramp will be suitable in most cases. Note that if you own a heavy cruiser with low ground clearance and long wheelbase, you may have to choose a longer ramp.

Normally, it would take from two to three people to load a large street, dual sport, or cruising motorcycle using a narrow, single-runner motorcycle ramp. If you don’t have anyone to help you do it, consider choosing a wide-width cruiser ramp that allows you to ride your motorcycle up on the loading surface safely. It has enough room for you to put your feet down for extra stability. Some models come with an arched top half, which also helps to avoid bottoming out. Safety straps or pins are added for attaching the ramp to the loading surface. Vinyl tips of the ramp are needed to prevent scratches on the tailgate.

Our motorcycle ramps are made out of aircraft-grade or billet aluminum to ensure their strength, durability, and usability. Many models feature a foldable design. You can easily store and transport your ramp next to your motorcycle in the truck bed. Remember to never ride a motorcycle up the single-runner ramp. Use a hitch-mounted step or small step ladder to walk with your dirt bike or light street motorcycle up on the loading surface. If you plan on hauling your bike fairly frequently, we recommend installing a special locking mechanism on the edge of your truck bed or trailer. It will eliminate the need for attaching safety straps each time you set up a ramp saving you lots of time.
