Motorcycles are some of the most popular means of transportation. For example, such wheel accessories as rim locks and strips, unknown to many riders, play a specific function.
These parts are designed to hold the tire firmly in place, preventing damages to the stem valve caused by the continuous movements of the tube. Rim locks fit between the tube and tire, and some metal spines ensure an adequate grip within the tire bead. It is crucial that the locks be properly mounted, without pinching the tube. Rim strips are mounted between the tube and rim, shielding the former from any asperity of the rims; typical examples are the ends of spokes.
