What security material is used?
ROKKERTECH - THE STRONGEST MATERIAL IN THE WORLD
UHMWPE
Each thread of the Rokkertech fabric consists of a core of highly abrasion-resistant UHMWPE material. This ensures maximum abrasion protection.
Cotton
Half of the UHMWPE threads are covered with a fine cotton fabric. Thanks to the appropriate dyeing, this fabric gives the classic jeans look.
Stretch
To further increase the wearing comfort, we have added Dual FX Lycra to the Rokkertech fabric. This ensures a pleasant and long-lasting stretch content.
Mechanical resistance
UHMWPE has unique properties; it is strong and tough enough to be used in bulletproof protective vests, mooring lines for offshore platforms (formerly made of steel), military armour or spacecraft attachments.
Abrasion resistance
It is difficult to understand the mechanisms of abrasion and what contributes to the abrasion resistance of plastics. In general, materials with good compressive strength perform better. For protective gloves in the workwear industry, standards have been created to enable different materials to be compared (see diagrams below). UHMWPE is by far the best material compared to other fibres - or even leather.
Longevity
High performance fabrics have their weaknesses. For example, prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation leads to a loss of performance in aramid fibres. This phenomenon is intensified when the moisture content increases. Should we trust a fibre that was originally developed to protect us when it loses its properties in sunlight or when we wash it? UHMWPE offers 0% moisture retention. Therefore, the fibre retains its performance despite UV exposure, perspiration and cleaning cycles.
