Speed Defies Gravity – it's hard to describe riding a motorbike more laconically, especially while looking at dizzying tricks during freestyle motocross competitions. This expression became a slogan and helped to name the company founded in the early 1990s in Southern California – SDG Innovations. It started business as a seat cover manufacturer, which used innovative materials and techniques in production. Pretty much soon, the company began making saddles for mountain bikes and motorcycles, and its hand-crafted, quality, and durable products were highly praised by bike riders and moto racers. In the 2000s, when minibikes were rapidly gaining in popularity, SDG decided to launch several competitive and affordable models under its own brand.
The SDG Speed Mini 107 is one of them. It was equipped with an air-cooled four-stroke 107cc engine, four-speed transmission with a manual clutch, hydraulic disc brakes, and adjustable rear suspension with an aluminum swingarm. The company tried to make the model more appealing not only for kids, but also for adults; for that aim, most components of this motorcycle including foot pegs, shifter, rear brake lever, seat, etc. have bigger dimensions than those of usual pit bikes. If compared to the 2005 Honda CRF50F, the bike of a similar design, the seat of the Speed Mini 107 is higher (28'' against 21.6''). Some riders report that the Speed Mini can even use many XR/CRF50 parts. Anyway, it's fun to ride and quite comfortable. Another model, the SDG Little Mini, looks similar, but it's lower than the Speed Mini – the seat height is 23.5 inches. Equipped with a smaller 50cc engine (also four-stroke) and three-speed transmission, it can be a better choice for children.
