There are very few dirt bike manufacturers whose machines can be described as “exotic.” TM Racing is known for producing just that – a lineup of exotic, expensive, and fast motocross, enduro, flat track, and supermoto motorcycles, and this Italian company can be rightfully regarded as the Ferrari of the off-road bike industry. TM motorcycles are hand built by purists for purists. These bikes are definitely not for everyone, and although these machines are quite rare, they have their own loyal customer base. TM Racing was founded by two friends who shared a strong passion for motorcycles and racing, Claudio Flenghi and Francesco Battistelli. They had long been engaged in improving bikes as a hobby and working in various mechanical departments before they decided to join their efforts to create their own Aermacchi motorcycle, which eventually brought Battistelli a victory in the regional championship in 1976. The idea of building an original bike with their own engine followed, and that same year, an experimental motorcycle saw the world, equipped with the engine made by Flenghi and the frame built by Battistelli. Already in 1977, they registered their motorcycle making business under the TM name (formed from the initials of their sons - Thomas and Mirko) in Pesaro, Italy. In 1979, Flenghi and Battistelli welcomed in Gastone Serafini, a young and promising racer who greatly expanded the company's technical expertise with his racing experience. It was also the year when the first TM enduro bikes were introduced.

Today, four decades since the company's foundation, TM Racing motorcycles are still hand-built at the production facility in Pesaro, and superior craftsmanship is still a defining feature of each and every bike. The experts at TM Racing are originators of many advances in engine building. TM engines use hand-finished cylinders and components, billet machined crankshafts and conrods, titanium valves with copper berylium valve seats, strong yet lightweight castings, forged pistons, etc. Their throttle bodies have proprietary constructions, aluminum chassis are hand welded, while plastics are TM Racing designed and feature heavier gauge than standard. TM Racing bikes are renowned for their two-stroke engines that come in many displacements from 85cc all the way up to 660cc. The TM MX 300 is perhaps the most well-known “mainstream” motorcycle, claimed to be the only option for those who want to have a brand new factory-built 300cc motocross bike. It possesses powerful dirt bike aesthetics, and it is incredibly fast, considering its two-stroke engine, swept volume, and lightweight construction.
