Vertemati Offroad Racing (VOR) is an Italian manufacturer of motorcycles that specializes mostly in motocross and enduro bikes. The company, based in Ronco Briantino, Milan, was founded in 1998 by the Vertemati brothers, Guido and Alvaro, who gained their experience working with Husaberg, the Swedish off-road motorcycle manufacturer. During their time there, Vertemati started developing their own prototype bikes. They hired American racer Mike Young to compete in Europe. When riding a modified Husaberg, Mike won the U.S. four-stroke Championship. He claimed that his new bike was far more superior to its two-stroke analogs. The relationship with Husaberg was ended when the brothers started putting their name on the tank.

Alvaro and Guide established their own company and began developing their own motorcycles for competitions full time. Within a year, they created the C500 motocross model which took some technical solutions of Husaberg, including an airbox placed under the chassis in the beam to save space. VOR has been mostly focusing on motocross, enduro, and supermotard racing motorcycles. One of the company’s most popular models, the 450 MX, was designed for cross competitions. It is powered by a liquid-cooled four-stroke single cylinder engine with an electronic ignition system and Keihin FCR 39 carburetor. Also, the bike features a kick starting system, final chain drive, Öhlins suspension system, and a completely redesigned aluminum swingarm.

Even though the company was mostly focusing on designing off-road bikes, VOR moved to the street motorcycle territory in 2002. The same year the name of the company was changed to VOR Motorcycles. The VOR 530 EN-E is a large bike with a ton of power provided by a big-bore 525 cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine featuring 4 valves. The motor is mated to a 5-speed transmission with wet multi-plate clutch. Black plastic radiator- and exhaust muffler covers give the VOR 530 EN-E a unique look. The following years, VOR Motorcycles continued the development and manufacturing of enduro (the 450 EN-E) and supermotard (the 450 SME) models featuring electric starter that showed impressive results in Six-Day Enduro and Enduro World Championships.
