It’s no secret that the bike’s gear ratio influences performance, and it can easily be modified in those motorcycles that use a final drive chain. For example, a higher ratio improves acceleration and throttle response, although it comes at the expense of maximum speed and fuel economy. If you hardly ever ride at top speed, you can make the ratio higher by installing a smaller front sprocket and/or larger rear one. Vortex offers first-class kits that include a chain and both sprockets featuring an altered number of teeth.
Vortex sprockets are made from 7075 T6 aluminum alloy or special steel to reduce weight while being CNC machined to meet the tightest tolerances. Many rear sprockets feature black hard coat anodizing with PTFE for maximum durability and wear resistance, or come anodized in other colors. There are polished front sprockets produced from nickel steel. Vortex rearsets also belong to the company’s good sellers; manufactured from solid billet aluminum and CNC machined for an ideal fit, they feature good adjustability and are strong enough.
