Way back in 1975, VP Racing Fuels started with 2 workers in San Antonio, Texas. Today VP is the uncompromising leader in racing fuels. The brand offers fuel blends, coolants, lubricants, street additives, small engine fuels, and many other high-grade products for automotive, motorcycle, UTV, and marine applications. However, most of all the company is known for its motorsports-customized race fuels and the commitment of its development team to being at the forefront of innovation. Today the company provides an extensive inventory of fuel blends comprising more than 80 formulas and an increasing list of motorsports champions who fuel their vehicles with VP products.
The company was set up by Steve Burns who challenged to create his own fuel by mixing different fuel blends with an aim to remove shortcomings of the race fuels offered in 1970th. Local Texan racers tried Steve’s fuel and liked the boost in power. This first fuel was called C12TM and became widely popular not without help from Warren Johnson and Bob Glidden who used C12TM and won numerous national championships. In addition to race fuels, the company also provides full-synthetic and non-synthetic lubricants, nitro engine oils, and assembly lube and break-in oils as well as glycol-free lubricants allowing for decreasing engine temperatures by up to 100°F compared to typical glycol-based coolants.
