The trike that you own has a powerful engine which can propel it to rather high speeds. However, this engine also outputs plenty of waste heat which must be dealt with, in order for the engine not to overheat and then seize. The cooling system is engineered to remove and dissipate this heat with the help of coolant circulating via the radiator. The coolant itself is what transfers heat from the motor to the incoming flow of outside air. In most cases, this fluid consists of distilled water, antifreeze, and several additives. In its turn, antifreeze is based on ethylene or propylene glycol.
