Warranty

Abus guarantees that its products are free from manufacturing and material defects.
If there is a defect in the item, Abus will be entitled to remedy this in the manner of its choice or to provide a replacement delivery. When remedying the defect, it is obliged to bear all expenses required to do so, including labor and materials. Should Abus not be prepared or able to remedy the defect or provide a replacement delivery, particularly if this is delayed for an unreasonable period of time for reasons for which it is responsible, or if the remedying of the defect/replacement delivery fails in some other way, the customer will be entitled, at their discretion, to demand a corresponding reduction in the purchase price. Unless otherwise stated below, all further claims by the customer are excluded, regardless of their legal basis.

Abus accepts no liability for damages not caused to the delivery product itself and, in particular, for loss of profit or other financial losses on the part of the customer. The aforementioned exemption from liability will not apply if the cause of damage was based on intent or gross negligence. The warranty period is two years, as of the transfer of risk. This period is a limitation period and also applies to claims for consequential damages. Should its operational or maintenance instructions not be followed, changes be made to the product, parts be exchanged or consumables used, which do not correspond to the original specifications, then any warranty will become null and void, unless the customer disproves a correspondingly substantiated assertion that the defect was caused by only one of these circumstances. Liability for normal wear and tear is excluded. Conditional normal wear and tear or excessive use will not give rise to claims for defects pursuant to the law. Only the direct customer will be entitled to make warranty claims against Abus and these rights are not transferable.
