The most common manifold-related problem is an intake leak. The manifold is subjected to huge temperatures; at the mouth of the intake, it is often higher than 240 degrees, which causes the seals, o-rings, and the rubber manifold itself to crack. Intake leaks can lead to abnormal functioning of the engine due to a lean condition. The fuel-air mixture diluted with oxygen causes an erratic idle and generates more heat during combustion, leading to engine overheating in the worst case scenario.
