Installation
Autolite® - High Thread Spark Plug Removal And InstallationThe spark plug is the last step in the ignition circuit. It takes a voltage surge from the coil and creates a high voltage spark that ignites the compressed air fuel mixture within each cylinder. If everything operates properly, the engine runs efficiently providing maximum fuel economy and the lowest exhaust emissions. Spark plugs are available in different materials, heat ranges, reach, thread diameter, and seat type, with features to suit engine requirements. Always use the spark plug that is specified for your engine. If the wrong plug is used, it could come into contact with a piston or valve within the engine and break causing serious damage to the engine.
With these spark plugs by Autolite, you are guaranteed that they will not only fit perfectly but meet all the requirements of your engine as Autolite uses what is called a "rating engine" to match up OE plugs. Autolite engineers carefully measure OE spark plugs and then match the physical qualities with several Autolite plugs. Then they run the OE plug in their rating engine, which provides data that indicates the heat range of the OE plug. They use this data to precisely match every Autolite spark plug to both the heat range and dimensions of the OE product. Engineered, designed, and manufactured with professional care, these spark plugs meet all OE standards and specifications.
