Sharing many features and styling cues with dirt bikes, dual sport motorcycles have some additional equipment that makes them legal and more suitable for riding on public roads. Meanwhile, dual sport bikes can be quite different, and their performance greatly depends on engine characteristics. If you’re about to improve or optimize the adjustments of your fuel-injected motor, you may need an aftermarket fuel controller working instead of the stock one or in tandem with it. Unlike the genuine electronic modules, such controllers offer more possibilities in terms of tuning.
In particular, they can be adjusted to provide the finest efficiency with the upgraded exhaust and intake systems, or in the case of various engine modifications. Also, you can tune them to add or reduce fuel supply in any working mode, be it idling, acceleration, or full throttle. Some models offer complete fuel maps composed by experienced engineers and racers, others include a wideband oxygen sensor and air-to-fuel ratio gauge to get the right mixture in all engine modes.
