X™ Front Left or Right Brake Rotor (MD621X) by EBC®. This rotor is made of Billet steel and should only be used with EBC Brakes Organic or Vee Semi-Sintered range of brake pads. EBC Pro-Lite brake rotors are complete replacement rotor assemblies made with a sturdy riveted construction and forged aluminum center hubs with high-friction billet steel rotor rings. These brake rotors are the perfect choice for you whether you need an OEM replacement or want to upgrade your brake rotors.

Notes

Remove ABS ring from old rotor and refit to new EBC rotor. Ensure all mounting surfaces are clean and when refitting bolts use a thread lock cement to hold them in place.

Although the Carbon X or TT Brakes will not outlast a sintered copper brake pad it has the unique benefit of lower heat generation and transfer. When riding off road in fast dry conditions such a feature is a major benefit. In EBC Brakes® years of listening to the faster riders EBC Brakes® have seen cases where the rear brake rotor can be glowing red in night rides which shows just how hot trail braking can get a rotor. Stopping this getting to the bikes hydraulics is greatly assisted by using a Carbon based pad such as the X or TT pad. In Europe these pads are selected by adding the suffix TT to the part number and in the USA by adding the letter X after the FA (Freeman Automotive) series part number. EBC Carbon X or TT Brakes are coded red in paint finish and is equally happy on an ATV or a Moto X or Enduro bike and is also used in ATV Sport riding. However EBC Brakes® caution riders using these pads in ATV use especially on rear rotors as wear life may be shorter than sintered pads originally installed in the original unit build. For Street Enduro use such as the "Paris-Dakar" style DR bikes for road use EBC Carbon X or TT Brakes are an ideal choice, it has been R 90 approved on many of such models in Europe and is safe for road use because of its ability to work effectively when hot.

Warranty

Motorcycle Street Bike Disc Brake Pads

The EBC Brakes warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship only. Warranty is for replacement of the similar product or refund of purchase value only excluding all labor and ancillary charges such as collection, fitting, inconvenience, purchasing of other manufacturer’s products and is good for a period of twelve months from the date of purchase or 5,000 miles of highway use. Proof of mileage will be required. Warranty is invalid if the product is used for taxi/hire car, racing, trackday experience riding, or any other form of competition. There is absolutely no warranty on any EBC product for race use. Warranty does not cover brake noise or normal wear and tear. Some brake pad systems cause pads to wear faster than others. Riders must assess the performance and durability of EBC Brakes products themselves if any EBC product is to be used in racing.

Motorcycle Street Bike Disc Brake Rotors

Warranty is for replacement of the similar product or refund of purchase value only excluding all labor and ancillary charges such as collection, fitting, inconvenience, purchasing of other manufacturer’s products and is valid for a period of twelve months from the date of purchase or 5,000 miles of highway use. Warranty is invalid if the product is used for racing, trackday experience driving, or any other form of competition. There is absolutely no warranty on any EBC product for race use. Riders must assess the performance and durability of EBC Brakes products themselves if any EBC product is to be used in racing. EBC also strongly recommends the use of its own EBC brand brake pads to run with the EBC rotors because numerous other aftermarket brands have been found to damage EBC rotors. The EBC rotor and pad are sold as a matched set and developed to work together. Do not risk damaging your rotors by using a pad that may damage your new EBC rotor product.

Warranty on off-road brake rotors covers manufacturing and size/fitment defects only and does not cover wear and tear which is almost impossible to evaluate in off-road conditions and is limited to replacement of the supplied parts only. No claims for ancillary costs such as fitting or removal costs are included in the standard EBC warranty.

No warranty is offered for brake vibration suffered due to uneven rotor thickness wear after incorrect installation of brake rotors. It is commonly known in the brake rotor business that accurate mounting and checking of runout on brake rotors is paramount at installation and in spite of necessary warnings, many mechanics still see fit to ignore this warning and make no effort whatsoever to check rotor runout. This leads to brake vibration in the 3-5,000 miles lifetime period and is not a warrantable condition. The solution for vibration at this stage is to have the rotors turned or replaced and to thoroughly clean the mounting flange on the vehicle and carefully check for runout before returning the vehicle to service use.
