Unlike a car or truck where a gas tank is hidden from the eye, the fuel tank of your motorcycle is an essential body part which not only serves as a fuel container, but also gives your bike a custom look. This is the job of your fuel tank venting system that allows your tank to breathe, releasing both vacuum and pressure. As a rule, the venting process is done with either a vented cap or pressure vent. It is crucial that the tank matches the type of your venting system, so bear this in mind when purchasing a new gas tank.
