No one wants their beloved motorcycle to be stolen, so riders always try to find a way to secure their machines when they leave them parked in the street, driveway, or parking lot. One of the most effective ways of preventing bike theft is the installation of a strong, reliable, and secure motorcycle lock. There are many ways for your machine to be stolen. A thief can simply ride away on your bike if you fail to protect it properly. Even if you secure the front or rear wheel with a brake disk lock preventing it from turning, the motorcycle can still be lifted by a gang of thieves and loaded into a truck or van.

Although, no matter what type of security systems you choose, no matter how advanced or complex they might be, you cannot guarantee the full protection from theft. With the right tools and enough time on hand, any lock can be picked, bypassed, or broken. The best thing that you can do is increase the risk for a thief to be caught in the act, which surely discourages them from messing with your property. For example, it can be done with the proper use of motorcycle U-locks, heavy-duty lock chains, or lock and steel braided cable combinations.

First and foremost, you’d better choose a lock with high-viz elements on it. It helps you avoid situations when you try to ride away while forgetting to unlock your bike. Also, more often than not, an obvious security measure deters potential thieves from even considering to steal your machine. You had better attach your machine to some immovable object by locking it through the frame with one of our strong U-locks. Avoid locking it through the front wheel because it can be removed fairly quickly. Yes, culprits cannot ride away on your motorcycle, but they can load it into another vehicle to completely disassemble it later and sell as spare parts.

If you cannot find another attachment point on your bike apart from the wheel, lock it through the rear wheel. It is much harder to remove it quickly, which puts a thief at risk of being apprehended. More advanced versions feature alarm locks with pager capabilities. Such a device can go off with a loud alarm when someone tries to cut it. In situations when you cannot use U-locks to secure your machine to a fixed object, we offer a combination of a compact U-lock and a chain. The chain is enveloped into a durable fabric sleeve which helps prevent damages to the motorcycle’s paintwork. The longer the chain, the easier it is to attach your machine to a lamp post or tree. Just make sure to tighten the chain as much as possible. When it hangs loosely close to the ground, it becomes vulnerable. Someone can attempt to freeze it and then break it with a sledgehammer.
