Wherever you go, being able to hear something other than the noise coming from your exhaust system is good. Its operation is inevitably accompanied by a loud sound which can be pretty disturbing. Silencing the engine’s roar is the job of the muffler. Inside, it has perforated tubes (baffles) and fiberglass packing. Over time, the material deteriorates and burns up making your motorcycle much louder. Your state may have decibel limits that must not be exceeded. What’s more, the performance of your trike may suffer due to blown-up packing.
Muffler repacking is one of the most overlooked maintenance procedures. However, it brings the original pleasant exhaust sound back and regains your bike’s performance.
