Adventure and touring bikes are designed for long and comfortable trips on paved roads and many ADV motorcycles can handle moderate off-road conditions. No matter where your bike takes you and at what speed, you want to be sure its brakes are strong and effective enough to safely bring you to a halt in an emergency situation. Drums are one of the earliest brake setups used on motorcycles. Although disc brakes are a far more popular choice these days, drums are simple and dependable, and they are installed on a great variety of bikes that ride on American roads today.

On the other hand, drum brakes have some downsides. Overall, their maintenance is quite complicated, but the main disadvantage of drum brakes is their tendency to overheat quite quickly. Overheating can lead to the thermal expansion of the drum or the shoes can become glazed, making the braking action ineffective. If you need to restore or want to increase the original stopping power, look no further as we have an always-expanding selection of drum brake components that meet the industry’s standards.
