Regular motorcycle maintenance isn’t difficult and there are benefits for both you and your bike. Unlike cars, which must be jacked up and supported to gain access to drain plugs and filters, most motorcycle maintenance can be performed with the bike resting on the side or center stand. Motorcycle components are generally exposed and easily accessible for inspection, service, and adjustment, and those parts that aren’t can be revealed by removing a body panel or two. Performing regular maintenance will help ensure your bike performs to its potential and lasts a long time. Of course, you’re the ultimate beneficiary of that but you’ll also gain personal satisfaction from doing it yourself, and the confidence to ride your bike anywhere and push it hard because you know the job was done thoroughly and done right. From consumables like oil and lubricants to the right tools for every service task, you can count on us for all your bike maintenance needs.

Your owner’s manual contains a schedule or chart listing the required maintenance tasks and the mileage or time intervals at which they should be performed. At the task/interval, the action needed will be specified, typically with the letters R, I, L, A, and T, which stand for Replace, Inspect, Lubricate, Adjust, and Tighten. Manuals will also usually state that if the motorcycle is used in adverse conditions such as extreme heat or dust that some maintenance like oil changes and air filter inspection/replacement be performed more frequently. Your owner’s manual may describe some service procedures like fluid and chain tension checks, and oil & filter changes, but to effectively perform all your maintenance procedures you need the kind of extensive and thorough information you’ll find in our repair manuals. They’re written by motorcycle industry pros and packed with accurate specifications and easy to follow step-by-step maintenance procedures, as well as diagnostic, repair, and overhaul techniques, accompanied by detailed illustrations and photographs that make everything crystal clear.

Along with knowledge, you’ll also need the tools to tackle maintenance jobs. In addition to basic hand tools and hand tool sets, on our digital shelves you’ll also find digital and analog gauges for checking tire pressure, fluid drain pans, oil filter wrenches, spark plug sockets and gappers, feeler gauges for checking valve clearance, torque wrenches for accurate tightening, drive belt tension gauges, carburetor adjustment tools, cable lube adapters that make cable lubing a snap, spoke wrenches, air suspension hand pumps, axle nut wrenches, battery testers, and more. But that’s not all, if repairs or component replacement is needed we have the tools for those jobs as well. We have clutch holders, including removal tools, hub pullers, and spring compressors; fork service tools including fork nut sockets and seal drivers; chain service tools including master link clip tools, chain breakers and chain presses; wheel and tire service tools including bead breakers, tire irons, rim protectors, and wheel balancing and truing stands; as well as many bike specific engine and transmission service tools.

If your bike only has a side stand and it needs to be upright or the wheels must be off the ground for the required service, we also have a large variety of stands, lifts, and jacks as well as tie-downs and straps to keep the bike secure. Our selection includes floor mount wheel chocks to keep the motorcycle in the vertical position; head lift and front fork lift, and rear swingarm stands to elevate the front or rear wheels off the ground; dirt bike stands; hydraulic jacks that lift the bike by the frame and store easily out of the way when not in use; and electric/hydraulic and air lift platform stands that bring the entire motorcycle up to a comfortable working height. Now that you have a plan of action, the bike is in place and you have all the tools for the job, it’s time to get started!

Engine oil and filter changes are one of the most common, and many would say the most important, types of maintenance. We carry a full line of conventional, semi-synthetic and synthetic motor oils in popular weights including 10W-40 and 20W-50. We offer oil formulated for use in 4-cycle air and liquid cooled engines, for engines that share oil with the gearbox, and for engines that have separate engine, transmission, and primary drive oils, as well as 2-cycle oil for pre-mix and oil injection applications. Here you’ll also find transmission and primary drive oil, final drive gear oil, and coolant. Brake fluid changes are prescribed maintenance on most bikes and we have DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 glycol-based fluids with higher boiling points that are perfect for high-performance use as well as DOT 5 silicone fluid. With our selection of fork and shock absorber oil weights you can tune your suspension for optimal ride and handling, and we have the cable lubricant to ensure easy throttle and clutch operation and chain lubricant that penetrates drive chain pins and rollers, without flinging off, for long chain life.

It’s ordinarily not specified in a maintenance schedule, but if you care enough to properly maintain your bike you probably don’t need a chart to tell you to keep it clean and looking good too, and we have the supplies you need. In addition to bike wash we have specialized cleaners for engines, air filters, chains, windshields, wheels, tires, and leather seats. Once your bike is clean you can protect all surfaces and bring paint and metal to a brilliant luster with our wax, metal polish, and vinyl, leather and rubber conditioner, plus we have detailing products to keep your bike sparkling when it’s not that dirty and in between thorough cleanings. We also have the tools that make bike cleaning easier including plugs to keep water out of mufflers, wheel, tire and spoke brushes, wash mitts and microfiber towels, and powerful blow dryers that remove water fast.

Proper maintenance also applies to when you store your bike in the off-season or for extended periods. You can help ensure long battery life and a quick startup out of storage if you keep your bike connected to one of our battery maintainers. With a maintainer, your battery will be brought to full charge and then constantly monitored to make sure it stays that way. Our maintainers can be used with FLA (Flooded Lead Acid) batteries, gel batteries, and AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) batteries, and quick-disconnect battery leads are included. You can also prevent a no-start due to bad fuel if you put fuel stabilizer in the gas tank prior to storage. And whether your bike is in long term storage or just out in a restaurant parking lot while you’re grabbing a bite, you can be assured it will be there when you get back if you’ve safeguarded it with one of our bike locks. We have tough, theft resistant chain and cable locks, U-shaped wheel locks, and disc locks, including disc locks with built-in shock and motion sensor triggered alarms.

This is a very misleading product listing. Do not order by mistake. It is just the pad.
