Suspension oil change is a procedure more typical for large motorcycles than for small scooters. Motorcycles are usually heavier and ridden more aggressively, so their forks and shock dampers work more intensively. But still, some scooters also need this type of oil to be changed. The reason may lie in possible leaks, suspension repairs, and high loads that some of these compact two-wheelers have to endure. Like in the case of motorcycles, oil volume and viscosity are the most crucial parameters.
Some reputable scooter manufacturers stipulate the required oil height in a fork tube and the needed viscosity for certain models. It makes sense to follow these recommendations, but if you lack that information or experience, you could use a medium viscosity fork oil, say, 10W. A higher oil grade makes the fork stiffer and more suitable for heavier riders and racers. In our online store, you will find a wide assortment of suspension oils produced by reliable companies. While performing their hydraulic function, they protect the suspension's inner components from corrosion and friction, yet their resistance to heat and other characteristics remain consistent for many miles.
