The crankshaft is the mechanical part of your motorcycle engine that is responsible for its proper operation. The purpose of the crankshaft is to convert the linear movements of pistons into rotational motion, which is then transferred to the wheels. The pistons are attached to the crankshaft with the help of offset shafts. When the pistons move up and down, they push the offset shaft, which in turn leads to crankshaft rotation. One end of the crankshaft is attached to the camshaft by means of a belt or chain, while the other end is connected to the flywheel, which reduces the pulsation characteristic of the four-stroke cycle and thus regulates the power coming out of the engine.
